About Me

I grew up in the Middle Tennessee area and received my Masters' degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Austin Peay State University in 2020.  I grew up in the Middle Tennessee area and recently moved from Middle Tennessee to the beautiful state of Maine in pursuit of a new adventure.

I first became interested in counseling when I was in middle school after I got diagnosed with a hearing disability, anxiety, and depression. I sought counseling to help me navigate these new parts of my life in order to help me to gain a new perspective. It saved my life.

Since then, I have discovered how powerful it can be to help others feel heard, seen, and understood by another individual. My biggest goal as a therapist is to do the same for others. Everyone deserves to be seen. Everyone deserves to be heard. Everyone deserves to be understood. You are never too much.

I chose to become a therapist because I believe in the power of listening to others' stories and experiences and to help clients make personal connections and deeper meanings within their lives'.  It has always been a dream of mine to serve others in order to help them find their voice and their purposes in this crazy journey we call life.

I currently reside in New England in the state of Maine. I love hiking, going to the beach, writing, reading, and going to music shows. I have always felt deeply connected to nature and to animals. You might see one of my dogs (Rosie & Lola) in the background of our telehealth sessions as they like to often like to hang out with me while I do sessions.

Specialties
My practice is rooted by humanistic and existential perspectives of psychotherapy.  My approach and pace in the therapeutic process is altered to fit each individual client's needs. I strongly believe in the power of embracing authenticity and embracing the strengths that you already have. My specialties are working with adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, individuals who identify themselves as neurodivergent, ADHD,  individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, trauma,  creative blocks, and chronic pain. You are never alone in this experience called life. I incorporate inner child work to address unresolved trauma/ unexpressed emotions since a lot of our views and beliefs of ourselves were born in childhood (hence the picture of my younger self).

I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement  Desensitization and Reprocessing) through EMDR Consulting, a EMDRIA approved training program. I utilize various techniques in my counseling style including EMDR and trauma-informed approaches, the Enneagram, DBT skills (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) skills, solution-focused techniques, and mindfulness exercises in sessions with clients. I believe that every individual has a purpose and I want to walk alongside you as you explore your purpose and make meaning of your life experiences. You are allowed to be you. Individuality is so powerful once we claim it.
